We are looking for an experienced Band B Occupational Therapist/Social Worker to join the new Notts Enabling Service (NES). This is an exciting opportunity to join a trail blazing team who are changing and developing the way we work with people in Nottinghamshire.

The NES team is made up of Community Independence Workers (CIWs), Promoting Independence Workers (PIWs), Coproduction workers and a team leader. We focus on improving people’s skills, accessing the community and supporting people to lead enriched lives. This could involve finding opportunities for voluntary/paid work, learning to get around using public transport, connecting with educational or vocational courses, developing or engaging in a range of interests or hobbies. The introduction of two clinical roles within the team will allow us further creativity and capacity to break down barriers to engagement and add clinical expertise to promote the connection between activity and wellbeing. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right individual to demonstrate flair and aptitude for person centred working, an ability to positively communicate new ways of working , to form excellent working relationships with the district teams and to deliver good outcomes in line with the Adult Social Care strategy.

As a band B, we are offering a great opportunity to develop the role in the supervision and mentoring of staff. We are looking for creative and forward thinking individuals who not only think outside the box, but think as if there is no box at all. You will be responsible for overseeing the work of our CIWs and PIWs, including provision of supervision. You will also support staff to find alternative solutions to overcome barriers and promote opportunities for engagement in meaningful occupation. You will undertake first visits, complete risk assessments and set goals. You will also have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and professional influence within the wider development of the service, including Coproduction.

We are seeking one Band B clinician.

This post is fixed term until September 2018 but is likely that they will be extended for a further 18 months following this.
