Due to staff restructuring we wish to appoint a creative, enthusiastic and energetic Early Years Practitioner to work alongside our existing Nursery teacher.  Initially this post is offered as temporary between January and July 2016 whilst our numbers rise and we consider the budget. We need someone to join our existing experienced Early Years team who can help to ensure that learning is fun and add a little sparkle to the lives of our youngest children in school.

We are a happy and welcoming Infant & Nursery School on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, with fabulous outdoor space and grounds. We had a very successful Ofsted in July 2014 when the Foundation Stage was noted as a strength of the school.

The successful candidate will need to: 

  • Demonstrate excellent early years practice
  • Have a creative and innovative approach and believe that learning should be exciting, enjoyable and fun
  • Be able to provide an outstanding learning environment both inside and outside
  • Be able to inspire and motivate children by creating a love of learning and sense of pride in children’s achievements
  • Be able to plan open ended experiences in which children able to explore and develop their own learning
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Understand the importance of assessment for learning, tracking and observation in order to ensure that all children achieve their potential
  •  Be committed to inclusion and able to work with other agencies including Sure Start, Speech and Language Therapists and our Inclusion Manager
  • Be dedicated to making a difference for our children and to celebrate their success
  • Have a sense of humour and positive outlook
  • Enjoy the job and be part of our team
