Occupational Therapist

We require a Occupational Therapist to work within the Discharge 2 Assess Team, you will be joining our multi agency team. This post does include working weekends. This role will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your current skills in addition to developing yourself as an autonomous practitioner. You will be part of a growing team providing evidence-based assessment and intervention to people with complex needs who are supported to live a meaningful life in their own homes. You will have excellent skills in delivering the Occupational Therapy Process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation both through direct contact with people and by providing coaching and guidance to Support Staff.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:

A commitment to undertake continuous training and personal development, work within a team in a bedded unit and in the community that promotes positive risk taking. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care plans and risk assessments. Coach and guide support staff to provide robust and evidence-based intervention with an emphasis on skill building work collaboratively with key stakeholders, the individuals we support and their families. Promote Co-Production initiatives which is underpinned by Positive Behaviour Support and as such, you will be expected to work collaboratively with all internal and external professionals to ensure the provision of robust, positive, and evidence-based support.

Occupational Therapist Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy (Including registration) 
• Good assessment, planning
• Intervention and evaluation skills
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007).
• Knowledge of Nottinghamshire’s Adult Social Care Strategy and an understanding of relevant policy and legislation underpinning social work practice.
• Experience of working with people 18 plus and a good understanding of their care needs.
• A driving licence and have regular use of a vehicle for this post. (a taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this).
