Creative Arts Technician (job share considered)

36 hours per week (term time only)

To start as soon as possible

Duties will include supporting the Creative Arts and Art departments

Creative Arts

  • Provide guidance and tuition on technical software across the department
  • Set up and operate live PA and audio-visual technology for concerts, exams and events in the college, including lighting, sound, band area, staging, set, props
  • Design and build virtual stage sets and video integration
  • Set up and operate studio suite for audio recordings
  • Develop the use of music equipment and provide technical instruction of software based systems (DAW) for staff and students.
  • Deliver tuition on filming techniques, provide direction and assistance for practical media coursework
  • Create guides for students on teachers on media and stagecraft
  • Maintenance of equipment, including keyboards, mixers, headphones
  • Record/film practical work and transfer to dvd/video, ensure electronic media is filed

Art

  • Prepare equipment and materials, including visual aids, dismantling and storage after use
  • Preparation of materials to support teachers with the delivery of lessons as requested by teaching staff eg pugging and preparing clay, fabric, ingredients, etc
  • Prepare glazes for ceramic work (both earthenware & stoneware)
  • Load and unload the firing kilns for the art department ensuring that students work is fired and available for them
