Based at our West Bridgford office we are looking to recruitment a full time Assistant Road Safety Manager to join our enthusiastic and dedicated Safer Highways Team. This role will oversee an effective and efficient School Crossing Patrol (SCP) service, support the delivery of the Road Safety Education programme and initiatives and support the management of the school crossing patrol service and directly associated staff. 

Some of the responsibilities will include:  

  • Support the Road Safety Manager by managing the SCP service on a day to day basis, including H&S onsite, staff training, performance management, recruitment & absence management
  • To manage and support the SCP supervisors in managing the frontline team of Patrols to ensure efficient and safe service delivery
  • Undertake site visits to SCP’s to complete H&S visits and deal with any performance or service delivery issues and completing appropriate administration
  • Be accountable for safeguarding of children using SCP service and undertaking Road Safety Education activities 

Essential knowledge & skills include a minimum of two years staff management experience or an appropriate management qualification, experience of the SCP service (or equivalent in terms of workforce) and an understanding of the Health & Safety issues relating to the safe provision of service and experience of working with children in a training / teaching capacity.  

The role requires the applicant to have a minimum of five GCSE’s including English & Maths, good IT skills, flexibility with working hours and location and a full, current UK driving licence.
