NCC Governor Services is a successful traded service within Nottinghamshire County Council, providing professional clerking, training and advice & guidance services to many educational establishments, both within and external to Nottinghamshire.  We enjoy a high reputation within the schools and academies we serve and a high level of repeat business. 

We are looking to recruit a professional practitioner to join the small governor services management team. This is a new post and is being recruited to support in the delivery of services to governing bodies with complex range of needs.

Ideally the successful candidate will have a range of diverse skills, including:

  •  The ability to understand and interpret regulations
  • An understanding of the role of governing bodies
  • A high level of interpersonal skills including both written and face to face communication to a range of audiences
  • Be able to advise headteachers and governors when they are managing complaints
  • Experience of presenting to a range of formal meetings and informal briefing sessions
  • Experience of delivering a high quality sold service to maintain and expand its customer base
  • Experience of supporting the management of a team of home-based workers, including recruitment and training
  • Experience of undertaking the role of clerk to governors

The role involves some evening work, sometimes at short notice, for which time off in lieu is taken within the needs of the service.
