This is an excellent opportunity to join the newly formed Regional Adoption Agency, Adoption East Midlands, and make a positive contribution to helping children, young people and their families. We are looking for enthusiastic team orientated people, who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can build effective working relationships with adoptive parents and colleagues alike.

We have 3 roles available with 1 post in Matlock – Derbyshire, 1 post in West Bridgford – Nottingham, and 1 post that will cover the region – the base will be agreed to later.

This is an integral role within the adoption team offering valuable day to day support to a team of social workers as well as being the first point of contact for those seeking our service and support. We are looking for people who can be flexible, multi-task, work to deadlines, are able, on occasions to work outside office hours and undertake work in the community when needed. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The post holder will be educated to GSCE Grade C or above in English and Maths or demonstrate evidence of competency at this standard. The successful candidates will be also expected to contribute to improving outcomes for children and families and understand the concept of safeguarding children and young people.

The successful candidates will receive regular supervision and be part of a supportive team environment. You will be supported to continue to develop your skills and knowledge so this is an excellent role for someone who may be considering a social work career path.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Adoption Service Manager Jane Bolan on 07584 593752.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
