We are looking to recruit a Job Coach to support learners in a way which recognises individual needs and aspirations.  This is a part-time casual role and the number of hours will be in line with employer and learning provider demand. You will carry out tailored job coaching to support learners with LLDD (Learning Difficulties) to develop work skills within the work placement. You will work with employers to ensure a successful work placement for the learner, agreeing targets to develop their ability and independence in the job role.

You will communicate with the employer, learning provider and other stakeholders, such as family, to review progress and apply necessary adjustments to increase the chances of the learner progressing into paid work.

You will accompany learners to interviews and on visits to the workplace prior to them undertaking the placement, and communicate with employers regarding the learner’s support needs.  You will have experience of working with people aged 16 years and above who have learning difficulties/disabilities/mental health problems, within an educational or work setting.

Recognised qualifications in support work and/or Supported Employment would be beneficial, however, you must have the ability to recognise and respond to the needs of individuals and encourage and motivate others.

The post will require the successful applicant to travel to employers across Nottinghamshire. In some cases this may require travelling with the learner, or to support independent travel through planning with the learner.

Initially the post is offered on a temporary basis until 31st March 2017, with a possibility of extension. For further information contact Michael Reid on 01623 476830.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
