It’s an exciting and pivotal time to be joining SSBC; Small Steps Big Changes (SSBC) ‘Fulfilling Lives - A Better Start’ we are now growing our team to support our local ambition for babies, children and families to meet National Lottery Community Fund priorities.

We have solid foundations in place, new Strategic Leadership and Senior Management appointed and have re framed our team to realise our ambitions. We now require an outstanding individual to manage our engagement team.

Are you committed to genuine co production with local communities, statutory bodies and VCS partners?

Do you have the skills, attitude, experience and knowledge to engage families and our workforce partners in our programme? Your role will be to work alongside and line manage three Engagement Officers.

You will need to be great at engaging with people, working collaboratively, organising events and working proactively as well as line managing a team. There is scope to do things differently in this programme and we welcome ideas to change and drive things forward. You will get great exposure to work with people at all levels across the workforce as well as doing a wide variety of work. You’ll be based within a very friendly team in the central SSBC office and with Family Mentors in our wards. You will work with the Workforce and OD Manager to build the strategy for engagement and drive the engagement team and the programme forward. Together we will drive engagement around SSBC themes and outcomes and help develop the communities we work in.

SSBC works with expectant parents, families, professionals and a wide range of partner agencies to position child development at the heart of our programme as a primary public health issue. It will build on the intrinsic motivation of parents to be the best they can be and capture this key ‘teachable moment’ to prepare and support parents to achieve the best outcomes for their children. At SSBC we are committed to engaging with fathers and male carers in all our work, therefore all staff have an important role in supporting father-child relationships and a commitment to this is essential
