Due to the restructuring of school staffing, we are seeking to appoint a school SENCO with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience. Required to start autumn term 2019. This is a whole school responsibility and the post holder will be a member of the School's Leadership Team.

This position is 50% non-class based with a 50% small group teaching responsibility each week.

The holder of this post will be the school's SENCO; they will have a responsibility for the overseeing intervention programmes/timetables, the deployment of Assistant Teachers, working in partnership with parents and staff to improve provision for children with SEND.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an outstanding, dynamic classroom practitioner with a good      understanding of how children learn and of Special Educational Needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to      motivate, inspire, lead and support colleagues.
  • Has a commitment to working strategically as part of a team, working      collaboratively with the Leadership Team, colleagues, parents and      governors.
  • Uses a variety of data sources to plan interventions for children of      all abilities.
  • Is either currently working as a SENCO/Inclusion Leader or who is keen      to gain a position and complete the National Award for SENCOs.
