Shared Lives is a successful way of helping people to live in their communities, have choice and control over their care and support and which incorporates a strength-based approach at its very heart. It is based on relationships which make a real difference to the lives of individuals and their Shared Lives carers.

Exciting opportunities has arisen for an initiative-taking and forward-thinking workers to join the Shared Lives Team in Nottinghamshire. You will work as part of a team who are responsible for the recruitment, assessment, and training of Shared Lives carers. These carers then provide support in the carer’s own homes to vulnerable adults.

You will be responsible for maintaining a caseload of approved carers and will be required to support and review them to ensure that they meet the requirements of the scheme and the Care Quality Commission’s regulations. The service also conducts detailed assessments on prospective carers, as part of the approval process. There is developmental focus to build the capacity of the scheme to extend the service to a wider range of vulnerable people.

You will need to have a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to your working hours on occasions.

You will have at least two years’ experience of working with vulnerable adults as well as the ability to monitor and supervise others.
