An exciting opportunity has arisen at Jacksdale Primary and Nursery School.  We are looking to appoint an inspirational head teacher to lead our school through the next stage of its development. The governors are seeking an individual who has the passion, drive and vision to promote and further develop the school whist working closely with the staff, governing body and community to move the school forward.

The school was last inspected by Ofsted in February 2015 and was judged to be “good” in all areas. This is an opportunity to support the staff and governors in moving the school forward from its current “good” position.

Jacksdale Primary and Nursery is a very positive place to work. It provides an innovative, evolving and creative curriculum, where all pupils are supported to achieve their potential. Its nurturing ethos and inclusive atmosphere is based on the belief that every child is entitled to an education which inspires them not only to succeed, but also to develop a long lasting commitment and passion for “life long learning”.

We are looking for someone who:

• has had a successful teaching career with proven experience of driving school improvement;

• has been a deputy or assistant head who is ready and eager for their first headship or an existing head looking for a new challenge;

• is an inspirational leader who puts children at the heart of everything they do;

• has high expectations of pupils and staff, with the ability to motivate and energise;

• is committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning;

• can develop strong positive relationships with collaborative associates, key educational partners, all stakeholders and the wider community;

• continues to develop the school ethos and has a strong moral and ethical code; and

• promotes an inclusive school where all children are confident and happy and where partnerships enhance the experience of all, inside and outside the school.

In return we can offer:

• a supportive and forward-thinking Governing Body;

• well-behaved and well-motivated children who enjoy achieving at a high level;

• a dedicated, professional, skilled and motivated staff team;

• a supportive PTA and an involved and committed group of parents; and

• an opportunity to shape collaboration with other education entities.
