The South Nottingham Catholic Academy Trust is seeking Clerks to the Trust Executive Committee, the school Governing Bodies and their sub-committees.  The Trust comprises The Becket School and 4 partner primary schools – Blessed Robert Widmerpool, Our Lady and St Edward’s, St Edmund Campion and St Patrick’s.

The Clerks advise on a range of issues including procedural, legal and educational matters, take the minutes and also undertake preparation and follow up work for each meeting.  The meetings mainly take place in the evening during term-time, but could occasionally take place during the daytime.

It is anticipated that for the Trust schools as a whole there are approximately 400-450 hours per year spread over the 3 terms of the school year. We are happy to receive applications from those wishing to work all of these hours covering all five schools or those who would only like to clerk for a smaller number of our schools. A set number of hours will be paid for each meeting.

An excellent standard of written English, advanced ICT skills including word processing and good communication and interpersonal skills are essential requirements.  Previous experience of writing accurate and concise minutes for formal meetings is highly desirable.  Training will be provided but an understanding of governing body procedures and current educational guidance/legislation would be highly advantageous.  The posts requires a commitment to the strict confidentiality of discussions within the committees until such time as they are deemed to be in the public domain.

Successful applicants will need to arrange their own transport to meetings.
