Catering Manager

Term-time only (193 days per year), 30 hours per week (7.30 am – 2.00 pm)

The Governors of Greenwood Primary and Nursery School would like to invite applications for the position of Catering Manager at our school. Are you an experienced Cook Supervisor or Chef in Charge looking for an exciting new challenge in a really friendly and supportive school? Team Greenwood would love you to join us, working alongside our Pink Ladies (MDS) and Kitchen teams.

Greenwood has established its own highly successful Catering Service supported by Food Service Options. Informed by parents and children’s views we develop our own seasonal menus using high quality locally sourced ingredients. We would like to appoint a catering manager with the drive, ambition and vision to move this forward.

We would like the successful candidate to start 25th February.

We welcome applications from qualified candidates with a proven recent record of catering management who are able to provide good references.

Key responsibilities will include:

1. General management of the kitchen, including cooking, cleaning and service of meals.
2. All administration work in connection with catering, including menu planning, food ordering, stock control, costing, staff record sheets and reports as required.
3. Line management of kitchen staff, including day-to-day supervision.
4. Cooking of meals with the other catering staff.
5. Participating in preparation and cleaning.
6. Maintaining a strict adherence to health and safety regulations and standards.
7. Following agreed budgetary and dietary guidelines and targets, administering budget appropriately on a day-to-day basis.
8. Being involved in marketing the service to our school community
