Careers Advisor

Our academy is at an exciting point in its development of careers guidance and support. Accordingly, we are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm to provide quality careers guidance and support to students in years 7 – 13, assisting them in making choices for the next stage of their education and prospective future careers. Understanding the educational landscape and with knowledge of progression pathways, you will be working alongside our newly appointed CEIAG leader, who will drive the vision for the CEIAG strategy. 

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level with a commitment to gaining a level 6 careers guidance qualification, if not already in possession of it and with knowledge of a broad range of qualifications, apprenticeships and training options at all transition points, in addition to the traditional academic routes. We would also welcome applications from candidates who are keen to gain experience in this field and appropriate training and support would be given in order for them to gain the careers guidance qualification.

As well as being personable, it is important that you have the ability to establish effective relationships with good humour and have a commitment to support the academy values. The role will involve giving one-to-one support, leading small group sessions and supporting the wider careers team and pastoral team to deliver key aspects of careers advice to students in all key stages.
