This post is home based, however you will be required to attend Sir John Robinson Way for meetings, supervision and training.

Due to the creation of a countywide community reablement team within the service, we are seeking a number of dynamic individuals with a passion for both providing care and promoting peoples’ independence to take on the role of Senior Reablement Worker. This role is both challenging and exciting. You will be responsible for visiting people in their own homes to introduce the service, plan support that is based on peoples’ strengths and abilities, ensuring safe levels of health and safety and taking into consideration issues surrounding peoples’ mental capacity that may pose challenges to achieving maximum independence. You will develop peoples’ independence to undertake personal care, meal preparation and safe medication administration activities through support that is dignified and person-centred to enable people to reach independence.

Do your values match our ours? We think it is important to:

  • Promote the principles of choice and control
  • Take a personalised approach to supporting people
  • Provide care and support with dignity and respect
  • Take pride in the quality of the work we do

If you share our values, we would love to hear from you!

In return you will be supported through supervision both formally and informally, have access to extensive training opportunities – you do need to have a level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care and we will support you to undertake a level 3 qualification.

We are committed to ensuring all our critical, priority workers are offered and receive the required doses of the Covid 19 vaccine in accordance with Government guidance.

In addition to this, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a fundamental aspect of infection prevention and control with the Council’s commitment to ensuring a supply of PPE to our critical, priority employees to protect employees continue to safely provide support to people.

Induction and training requirement on how to safely use PPE is mandatory for all our critical, priority employees and as a service committed to health and safety, Covid risk assessments are being carried out to identify and address initial and immediate risks in the homes of people we support prior to undertaking home visits.

Applicants require a full driving licence and access to a car to undertake home visits with the Council providing reimbursement for mileage incurred for business use purposes.
