As a supervising social worker in the Countywide fostering team you will be responsible for assessing, supporting, and supervising foster carers to ensure they are able to provide high-quality therapeutic care to the children they are looking after. You will play a crucial role in working alongside prospective foster carers and their families to advise, inspire, support, and challenge them to grow in confidence and achieve their potential.

As this post is primarily dedicated to the assessment of prospective foster carers, the ideal candidate will be child-centred, enthusiastic and able manage their diary effectively. The ideal candidate will also have strong assessment, investigative and analysis skills and be able to present information to a wide range of audiences. Recording, report-writing, and IT skills are essential requirements, along with an ability to work on your own initiative.

Carers and children will rely on you to create supportive and nurturing relationships, so you will need to demonstrate previous social work experience, with a record of working with young people who have a history of trauma. You will need to develop positive working relationships with professionals and have good communication skills since you will be working in a highly collaborative environment. Flexible and hybrid working options are available for this role.

If you would like more information or an informal discussion about the role, please contact Team Manager Rochelle Wallace, Rochelle.wallace@nottscc.gov.uk
