The Maximising Independence Service (MIS) is a new service area in the Adult Social Care department, which is focused on early resolution, prevention and promoting independence and wellbeing. The aim of the service is to help people to maximise their independence as much as possible by providing information, advice and guidance, setting short-term goals and identifying support to achieve those goals.

Due to the creation of a Countywide Community Reablement Team within the service and to help us achieve our aim, we are looking for a Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to work within our new MIS Community Team, to support Occupational Therapy staff operating across the county, promoting a strength-based approach to embed the ethos of promoting independence and wellbeing and delaying the need for ongoing care and support.

The key to this role is the development, supervision, coaching and leadership of staff through change, enabling them to understand what is expected of them and take ownership for their decision making in supporting the people of Nottinghamshire to identify and achieve their goals.

Do your values match ours? We think it is important to:

  • Promote the principles of choice and control
  • Take a personalised approach to supporting people
  • Provide care and support with dignity and respect
  • Take pride in the quality of the work we do

We pride ourselves in providing high levels of customer service in order to achieve positive outcomes and quality services for people accessing Community Reablement.

In return, you will be supported through supervision both formally and informally to develop your skills, build expertise and take advantage of the extensive training opportunities to advance your career within the service and the Council.

So if you are an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years post qualification experience and want to take the next step and have the right skills, knowledge and above all else, make a positive contribution to the MIS service, with a can do attitude, we would love to hear from you!
