Summary Description

The Governors are looking to appoint an outstanding, committed teacher, who has a proven record of quality first teaching to work within our school. We are seeking to appoint an individual who is knowledgeable about learning and skilled at bringing out the best in all our learners and also has the ability to develop the practice of colleagues. This is an excellent career development opportunity for a teacher who is looking to move into Senior Leadership.

This role has been created through a staffing restructure to focus on raising standards through staff development and to have an excellent role model teaching in class.

The role will have a three day teaching commitment in a Key Stage 2 class with two days leadership release time. The principle responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Provide leadership of teaching and learning across the school focused on securing high quality teaching and learning.
  • Take responsibility for the day to day management and organisation of the KS2 team.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues including NQTs and teachers experiencing difficulties to raise standards in teaching and learning.
  • Analyse data and set clear and ambitious targets at Key Stage 2 for school improvement.

We are therefore seeking a teacher who has the following skills and qualities:

  • A proven record of outstanding classroom practice
  • The potential to develop excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • An in depth knowledge of and clear vision for the National Curriculum
  • A secure understanding of Assessment for Learning and how quality assessment informs planning
  • The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues, children and parents
  • High expectations of all pupils

The role will come with a 0.6 teaching commitment.
