An opportunity has arisen for a full time Advanced Social Work Practitioner (ASWP) within the Preparing for Adulthood Team (PFA). We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, experienced Social Worker to join our growing team.  

You must have a Social Work Qualification and be registered by Social Work England. You will either be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), a Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator. You must have knowledge and experience of safeguarding adult’s work within multi-agency procedures and experience of supervising staff, providing professional support to team members and managing a complex caseload. The role will require strong leadership skills, you will be supporting the development of practice in key areas and will be expected to further the implementation of strength based approaches, owning and driving performance and the Nottinghamshire County Council cultural priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing multi specialist team offering assessment and commissioning support for young people as they enter adulthood. You will work in a strength-based way and aim to make a real difference to the lives of young people experiencing physical disabilities, mental health, learning disabilities and ASD. 

PFA is part of the Adult Living Well service, you will work in accordance with the following legislation: The Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act etc. Good Communication, time management and IT skills are essential.

PFA work alongside children’s social care, education and health in order to support a young person as they move into adulthood and adult services – working closely with the young person you are able to support them in achieving their aspirations and outcomes at a pivotal time in their life.

PFA is a small Countywide team in a rewarding service area within adult social work and the team offers good support within a friendly atmosphere. You will receive regular supervision and have access to appropriate training and opportunities for personal development.
