A fantastic opportunity has arisen for someone to join our team to ensure that new development across Nottinghamshire contributes to the costs of infrastructure such as schools and transport.

Based in the Planning Policy Team at County Hall, West Bridgford, you will act as the externally facing lead for the County Council with developers and District Councils to help maximise developer contributions - both S106 obligations and the Community Infrastructure Levy. You will represent County Council services and monitor the delivery and spending of funding received.

You must be educated to degree level (or equivalent), have a detailed knowledge of policies and guidance relating to developer contributions and experience of the planning system.

Experience of undertaking negotiations in complex matters, working with senior people and the ability to assimilate and analyse highly complex information are essential requirements of the post. You will be expected to represent the authority at planning inquiries or hearings.

You must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, be sensitive to the often-confidential nature of the work and be politically astute.

If you are interested but want to find out more, please call Stephen Pointer - Team Manager Planning Policy on 0115 993 9388.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.
