Required from January 2020 experienced teacher to work across the school with leadership responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Safeguarding.

The Governors of this happy and successful school wish to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and highly-motivated Assistant Head Teacher. Proven leadership experience will enable you to work within our dedicated, high performing and supportive staff team, who are committed to continuing to raise achievement. The successful candidate will be the senior designated person for safeguarding and hold responsibility for leading SEND across the school. The role will also include the line management of our large teaching assistant team (including our family support worker), as well as subject responsibility for PSHE across the school.

We are looking for a dynamic person who thrives on challenge, understands what good teaching and learning looks like and passionately believes that any child, regardless of background or ability, can achieve.

The successful candidate will need to:

  • Understand the needs of SEND pupils, have high expectations of what they can achieve and oversee their provision to secure success
  • Have real enthusiasm for teamwork and collaboration
  • Have high expectations (of yourself, colleagues and the children)

  • Be a true team player with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
