Driver Training Team Leader

37 hours per week


The successful candidate will supervise force driving schools by arranging course schedules in line with organisation needs and monitoring delivery to local and national standards. They will also deliver training and assessment for course delegates and monitor force performance in driving.

Applicants must:

  • Be an accredited advanced Driving Instructor
  • Have held an Advanced Driving Authority within the emergency services.
  • Hold a D1 licence.
  • Have or gain within 2 years a Certificate in training & Development or equivalent education/training qualification.
  • Demonstrate experience of developing individuals in a structured manner, including carrying out skills assessment.
  • Demonstrate experience of managing teams and functions.
  • Demonstrate experience of fast roads policing, VIP/defensive driving and an understanding of road policing issues.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyse and manage data, prepare and present high quality complex reports.
  • Demonstrate experience of using good communication at all levels to achieve an outcome or challenge existing practices.
  • Demonstrate effective project management skills in a complex working environment.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of diversity issues.
