£15,306 – £16,047 FTE per annum (Salary will be pro rata’d for part time and term time working)

Working hours: 10hrs x 37 weeks term time only, 20hrs x 37 weeks term time only, 20hrs x 37 weeks term time only

Central College Nottingham is looking for suitable candidates to support students in the classroom.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include:

  • To work in a non-teaching capacity, acting as a Classroom and Personal Care Assistant, to support students with learning difficulties and / or disabilities, in any location offering Central College courses.
  • To work under the direction of a member of the teaching staff when supporting within the classroom.
  • To work under the direction of the Additional Support Lecturers to implement the Students’ individual educational support plans.
  • To support student’s development of literacy and / or numeracy skills.
  • To take advice and work under the guidance of specialist Lecturers and the LSA Co-ordinator in relation to physical/medical care.
  • To help achieve the learning aims of students, by feedback, review and modification of support plan, and to work towards their independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • To assist in the preparation of learning/teaching resources, including setting up of specialist equipment.
  • To meet the students’ personal needs e.g. toileting, dressing, help at mealtimes, administering medicines.
  • To assist staff and students on a residential project if required - a maximum of one during the year.
