Salary - £21,693 - £22,401 pa (pro rata)

33.5 hours per week Plus 6% contribution to employer pension scheme

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated debt caseworker to join our debt team. Based at our offices in Newark & Ollerton, you will provide a comprehensive, confidential and flexible debt advice casework service to clients across the Newark & Sherwood District. We are looking for someone with recent experience of debt casework and a proven track record in achieving targets within a challenging debt environment. 

Currently our services are delivered by a mix of 9 paid staff members, and 40 volunteers. Our services are delivered at a number of locations across the Newark & Sherwood District.

As an experienced Debt Caseworker you will have the ability to:

  • Provide specialist casework covering the full range of debt advice.
  • Work to given targets in line with the criteria set by the funder.
  • Act for the client where necessary by compiling financial statements, negotiating, drafting, writing letters and telephoning.
  • Negotiate with third parties as appropriate.
  • Ensure income maximisation through the take up of appropriate benefits.
  • Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their   case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all casework conforms to Money Advice Service/Financial Conduct Authority standards and the Advice Quality Standard.
