Nottinghamshire County Council’s Children, Families and Cultural Services are looking to appoint Residential Social Care Workers and Residential Care Workers on a permanent, temporary and relief basis in our children’s homes in Southwell, Edwinstowe and Mansfield.

Our homes offer care to young people who:

  • have severe learning disabilities, many of whom are on the autistic spectrum, and who exhibit significant challenges in management of their behaviour.
  • those who have complex physical disabilities and who can have life limiting conditions, and
  • those who are accommodated or looked after by the local authority.

You should want the rich rewards of working with very challenging, but also extremely fulfilling young people. You must be committed to providing consistent care, be dynamic, able to work within clear boundaries and could further the development of our young people. You will have a strong commitment to improving the life chances of the young people entrusted into your care and help them enjoy and achieve.

The role can be demanding and you will possess a wide range of qualities, skills and abilities in order to work in what can be a very stressful and challenging environment. The safety, security and well-being of our young people will be your primary responsibility.
