Early Childhood Services, Early Years Quality and Attainment Team is a multidisciplinary team of Early Years Specialist Teachers and Quality Improvement Advisors who work mainly with Private Voluntary and Independent settings and Schools, Academies and Childminders. As an Early Years Quality Improvement advisor, you will be working with the Early Years Specialist Teachers to promote and support the delivery of high-quality early education and childcare provision and to raise attainment, especially with vulnerable children. You will be working collaboratively with early years providers to achieve this.

You will need:

  • An Early Years degree or equivalent and substantial experience of leading and managing high quality early years provision working with children aged 0-5
  • A valid driving license and access to a vehicle (unless disability precludes this)
  • Detailed and in-depth knowledge of current legislation, including the statutory guidance for the Early Years foundation Stage, Ofsted inspection requirements, SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding practices and protocols
  • Knowledge and experience of working with a range of vulnerable children and an understanding of current legislation and of relevant key local/national policies in relation to these children.
  • Experience of working in collaboration with a range of other professionals and agencies.  
  • Excellent communication skills and a drive and commitment to ensuring young children have the best start in life.
