The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'.  Watch the two minute animation to learn more.

We have an exciting opportunity to join a Family Hub Team within Nottinghamshire. Our work with children 0-5 years remains part of our core offer and we will be expanding our service offer to 0-19 years.

You will be able to undertake one-to-one work with parents/carers to meet identified needs and deliver evidence-based programmes, within Family Hubs and family homes.

You must have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with children 0-5 and their families, an NVQ 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) with experience, be a driver with access to a vehicle for work purposes and be able to demonstrate sound knowledge in the following areas:

  • Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
  • Knowledge of child development and awareness of the importance of early attachments
  • The importance of early intervention when working with families
  • Working in diverse communities and the ability to work in a non-discriminatory way.
  • Working in partnership with a range of agencies
  • Communication skills, report writing, assessment skills, record keeping and IT skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality
