We are seeking a new Fair Access Team Manager who has experience of working in the education sector with vulnerable and challenging young people. You will require good negotiation skills and must be willing to support and challenge school leaders to promote education inclusion in both maintained and academy schools. You will be expected to work in close partnership with a wide range of local authority teams and education settings.

Nottinghamshire is a large county and you will be a hybrid worker with the ability to work from home, from the office or to attend meetings in schools as appropriate. You will be leading a team of staff focused upon Fair Access, Pupils/Children Missing Education and Elective Home Education. These are busy teams often supporting schools and families at times of stress and you will be expected to provide appropriate support and guidance to your staff. As a Team manager you will be expected to provide and analyse data and draft and present reports to Senior Leaders and Councillors.

This is a challenging fast paced but exciting role which will require you to work within, and contribute to, a range of complex systems to ensure that vulnerable pupils can access education.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
