This post is to cover a secondment in the County wide Preparing for Adulthood Team. We work across Children’s services, Education and health to plan a smooth transition from Childrens to adult services and prepare support plans for those beginning their journey into adulthood.  This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Social Worker with at least 2 years’ experience at Band B level, who has had experience of working as a social worker in Adult Social Care. You will be an Approved Adult Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) or Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator (Level 2) or have evidence of relevant post graduate study. 

As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, you will be expected to provide a leadership role within the team, providing both formal and informal supervision to staff, as well as undertaking management duties such as safeguarding management, duty management and helping to lead on areas of development for practice. You will also take a lead on social work practice issues and on the continuing professional development needs of the social workers and CCOs (SWs) in the team. There will be a requirement to hold a small caseload of the more complex cases within the team and you will also be expected to undertake duties as an AMHP or Best Interest Assessor. 

In return for your commitment we will provide regular supervision, access to professional development opportunities and support to develop as a lead practitioner and to contribute to the operational and strategic development work of the department.
