We are pleased to be able to offer the following post in this specialist team working with adults aged 18 to 65 who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

This is for a Full time or job share permanent post.

The successful applicant must be an enthusiastic and experienced person, confident to work in an established, professional and supportive team alongside NHS and other partner agencies to provide an assessment and care management service with a focus on recovery.

Applicants must have at least two years experience of community care or related social care work and knowledge of the current issues which inform Adult Social Care involvement with people experiencing mental health issues and their carers. The successful applicant will undertake assessments and reviews of the needs of service users and carers under the Care Act, in line with the Adult Social Care Strategy.

Another major part of the role will be to work independently with individuals to promote independence and recovery. The ability to work as part of a team will be key, working alongside colleagues to meet team objectives and participate in Duty activities.

Good communication and IT skills are essential for case recording and working in partnership with other agencies. The team covers the Ashfield and Mansfield districts and will include visiting hospitals across the County so a vehicle and full clean driving licence is essential.

Due to the service needs if the team we are particularly keen to encourage applications from male workers.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.
