Nottinghamshire County Council has an increasing number of electively home educated children i.e. children whose parents have chosen to take full responsibility for providing their children with an appropriate education. This is a new post that will work within the Fair Access Team to provide information to schools and parents about their legal rights and responsibilities linked to elective home education, to co-ordinate associate advisor visits to families who are providing elective home education, to help to ensure that families have access to relevant information and that children and young people are effectively safeguarded.

You will be primarily office based but will be also be required to work in partnership with other local authority teams and to visit schools. You will need to be able to work in a fast paced environment and manage a challenging and interesting workload.
