An opportunity has arisen within the Younger Adults Reviewing for Independence Team, County Wide. The objectives of the team are to assess/review the needs of younger adults within the County, arrange services to meet eligible needs and to support our clients to promote their independence and wellbeing within the community. You would be required to have experience of working with adults in the community.  In addition to this the team also undertakes occupational therapy assessments for the Double to Singles team. The team work with customers who have, Physical Disabilities, Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs. Experience in these areas would also be desirable.

The requirements of the role will include undertaking functional assessments, moving and handling assessments, prescribing equipment and partnership working with other agencies to facilitate minor adaptations. Appropriate support can be provided to less experienced candidates. You will receive regular supervision both formally and informally form an Occupational the Team Manager, and will be supported to attend training to progress your career and meet the HCPC’s requirements. Our team supports professional development and you will have opportunities to expand your knowledge and competencies in safeguarding’s, mental capacity, and in assessment work in prisons. You will be encouraged to undertake further specialist training as a Best interest assessor or Approved Mental Health Practitioner if this was something of interest to you. We are a supportive team of occupational therapy staff and community care Officers. There is an expectation that you would work in partnership with your colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for our client and use the resources available to you to achieve this. You will need to have good organisational skills, an ability to demonstrate clear professional and clinical reasoning and be competent in being able to manage a case load of mixed priority work.

Applicants must have a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be registered with the HCPC. We are advertising this for both band A and band B applicants for Band B requirements you must have at least 2 years’ experience as a qualified OT. Appointments to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring service check. In return for your commitment we will provide a supportive team environment with access to professional development opportunities.
