Join our team at the Business Services Centre (BSC) and provide ongoing technical support to the Pension Fund. As a Senior Practitioner, you will manage the team and service, ensuring compliance with LGPS and other statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance on LGPS and compensation regulations
  • Manage the creation of office advice notes on regulatory changes
  • Liaise with government bodies, administering authorities, actuaries, and employers
  • Monitor and evaluate proposed changes to the LGPS
  • Support the Pensions System Team in testing changes and updates

Requirements:

  • Experience in pensions administration
  • In-depth knowledge of the Local Government Pension Scheme framework and regulations
  • Ability to undertake complex numerical calculations
  • Experience in managing and supervising a team

As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in monitoring, amending, and evaluating regulatory changes and their impact on Pension Fund processes. You will communicate these changes to the Pension Fund Team and support the Employer Support and Compliance Team in communicating with scheme employers. Additionally, you will manage communications to scheme members and attend technical group meetings, pensions officer group meetings, and other pension fund events.

This is a part-time position, 18.5 hours or 3 days of work per week.
