Facilities Manager/ Caretaker

Sawley Junior School, which is part of Willows Academy Trust, is looking to appoint a Facilities Manager/Caretaker to join our friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic team. The successful applicant will:

• ensure that the general appearance of the building and surrounding areas are maintained to a high standard;
• be responsible for the security and maintenance of the whole school site and to ensure the school complies with all current legislation relating to site safety and management;
• promote and participate in achieving the most efficient and economic use of the school premises, facilities, plant equipment and materials;
• liaise and/or supervise external contractors working on site;
• line manage a small team of cleaners ensuring that cleanliness standards are maintained. The successful applicant will be required to have a flexible approach and provide an efficient and effective facilities management service.

He/she will be required to undertake a variety of cleaning, security and general DIY and grounds maintenance duties.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential.

This post will involve working split shifts of mornings and afternoons. The successful applicant will also be required to:

• act as a key holder and attend site out of hours in an emergency.
• be available to work pre-arranged over time.
