Make Pensions your calling!

At Nottinghamshire Pension Fund we’re focused on administering pensions for our 35,000 Pensioners and 41,000 Active members along with 36,000 active members as well as supporting over 300 Pension Scheme employers.
We’re all doing our bit to make a difference, whether that’s supporting members nearing retirement to providing pension information to our active members in employment, as well as supporting pensioners with their retirement benefits.

We couldn’t do all this without our dedicated and very important Pension Administrations Team. We’re one of the largest Local Government Pension Funds in England and Wales and we pride ourselves on our diverse and inclusive working culture.

Are you great with people, helpful and enthusiastic?

If this sounds like you, then you could be just the Pensions Officer we’d be proud to employ at Nottinghamshire Pension Fund. If you have pensions experience that would be fantastic, if not, training will be provided. The role will involve providing pension information to members of the fund and you’ll also be the first point of contact for our members, providing a first-rate service by phone, letter, and email.

You’ll actively seek to resolve customer queries at the first point of contact where possible and use your brilliant communication skills to handle sometimes complex yet rewarding conversations. Don’t worry, you’ll get training on how to deal with any complex calls. Our job is to support you whilst you help us support our Pension Fund Members.

As a Pension Administrator, you’ll get real responsibility and opportunities to shine and develop your career with us. You’ll join a friendly and welcoming team and receive plenty of support to help you reach your potential.

No pensions experience is necessary as full training will be given. It’s your enthusiasm, helpful manner and willingness to learn that we require. What we do ask however is that you feel comfortable with talking on the phone, have good writing and numerical skills and are keen to help others.

Working Patterns: You’ll be working on a 37 hour per week contract and we operate a flexible working time scheme around this.

Due to the current position around COVID-19 Nottinghamshire Pension Fund staff members are currently operating from home whilst Nottinghamshire County Council undertakes a recovery planning exercise. The ability to work from home would therefore be required for this position.

Please note: The reason we are launching this recruitment campaign is to ensure we have sufficient resource available for the future to cover our recruitment needs for the next 12 to 18 months.

Responsibilities

So, could this be you?
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Great communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Dedication to providing a brilliant service for our customers
  • Ability to handle both enjoyable and fast-paced conversations
  • Ability to provide information, quickly and clearly
  • Can-do attitude and a real passion for supporting people
  • Proficiency in maths and the ability to deal with basic calculations

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
