Outreach and Development Worker: Self Help UK

Temporary
Full Time
Until March 2020
21-23 Pelham Road, Nottingham, NG5 1AP
£24,000 per annum

Self Help UK’s aim is to innovate locally to replicate nationally, bringing locally developed self-help groups activity to the forefront of health and social care practitioners thinking when supporting people with long term conditions and life affecting situations.

Self Help Groups provide members the opportunity to meet other people who share their experience and are ideally suited to encourage and support people to manage their health and wellbeing and to actively self-care.

A gap has opened up in our Outreach and Development Team so we are looking to employ someone who is experienced in engaging with people and communities to support each other and who is passionate about the power of mutual aid and shared experience as a force to deliver change.

The post holder will work in partnership with a range of organisations in health and the third sector to develop and support self-help groups and new and innovative ways to engage people in health and wellbeing activity.

We are especially interested in growing our considerable engagement with the Black, Asian and minority Ethnic Communities in Nottingham. We would welcome interest from people who can demonstrate a connection to and understanding of the issues faced by these communities in accessing health and social care.

To apply please download an application pack from our website www.selfhelp.org.uk or email recruitment@selfhelp.org.uk and a pack can be sent to you. CV’s will not be accepted.
