The service provides support to families following the Nottinghamshire County Council Concerning Behaviours Pathway where a child or young person is showing indicative behaviours of ASD/ADHD. Small Steps have a comprehensive menu of interventions to offer parents/carers post diagnosis support and during the pathway for assessment. Small Steps deliver practical and emotional advice and help to families using evidence based practice, enabling families to increase resilience and long term coping strategies.
We provide a range of parenting support through group work, virtual media, occasional home visits and informal networks in community setting. You will participate in team meetings contributing towards the development of the Small Steps service and the team responsibilities. You will work alongside Small Steps volunteer befrienders who provide additional support to families, helping them to feel less isolated and enabling them to connect with others with similar experience.
We require a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual with experience of and a passion for working with children displaying concerning behaviours or with a diagnosis of ADHD/ASD and their families.
