Have you been working for Nottinghamshire County Council for 2 or more years? Are you currently employed on a permanent contract with Adult Social Care? Are you passionate about wanting to train to become a Social Worker? Can you demonstrate significant experience of working in Adult Social Care? Are you flexible and self-directed in your learning, with a commitment to your own professional development?

The council has a commitment to supporting career development using apprenticeships. We are pleased to be able to announce that we intend to start the recruitment for a supernumerary level 6-degree apprenticeship post across the county, to commence in January 2021.

The Social Worker apprenticeship opportunity has attracted a lot of interest and we anticipate that it will be a highly competitive recruitment process. Please ensure you check the university website to establish the level 6-degree university entry requirements before applying for these apprenticeship posts. Here is a link to the UCAS points calculator

It is a requirement for all apprenticeships to have Maths and English at GCSE/level 2 and they will be required to successfully complete a level 2 numeracy and literacy functional skills test with the University.

The pay scale for these posts is a % of the qualified worker starting salary, that will increase for each of the 3 years of study. This reflects that the apprentice develops their skills, knowledge and behaviour each year they are in post.

  1. The interested person should apply for the SW apprenticeship job advert on the internal vacancy page.
  2. The interested person must include a supporting statement from their team manager – (this document can be downloaded below and must be attached to the CV field of this application before submitting, applications without this supporting document will not be considered for shortlisting).

  4. Successful candidates will then be asked to follow the university application process and the university will choose with the employer the successful candidate for the post Nottingham Trent University  Click here.
