A short-term secondment/acting up opportunity has arisen within the Corporate Business Support Service.

The opportunity is for the role of Business Support Officer. This is a first line management role and would be ideal for anyone who would like to try out a managerial role managing Grade 4 and Grade 3 Business Support Assistants. Full support and guidance will be given via the relevant Team Manager.

The current postholder is currently off long-term sick and this opportunity is for an initial period of 6 months but may be extended. It will last no longer than 12 months.

As this is a secondment opportunity you would be expected to gain the permission of your current manager before submitting an expression of interest.

You would be undertaking to manage 16 staff who support operational teams as follows:

  • Youth Service – including Youth workers at YP Centres across the County
  • School Swimming
  • Communities Team
  • ICDS (Special Educational Needs)

Primarily all staff are currently working from home and there would be no expectation to meet staff face to face.

An understanding of Business Support processes and the systems used would be helpful.
