Post begins 1st September 2018, 25 hours per week, 8:30 am – 1:30 pm

The Governing Board of Richard Bonington Primary School is seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary basis to be part of our close knit, hard working and friendly team.

The successful candidate is likely to be working predominantly in Year 6, though may also work in other KS 2 year groups.

The role will primarily involve supporting pupils with a wide range of individual needs, and who occasionally present with challenging behaviour. Therefore, experience of working with children with such needs would be advantageous.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide structured activities for pupils at lunchtimes. These might include organised sports activities, outdoor team games, or craft and indoor activities.

The successful applicant must be hard working and adaptable, and able to work under their own initiative.

The post is offered initially on a one year temporary contract as the needs of the school in the longer term are being reviewed by the school’s management team.

Richard Bonington Primary and Nursery School is a very happy place to learn and work. We value the professional development of our staff very highly, and look forward to hearing from applicants who are enthusiastically committed to making a difference to children’s lives.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, candidates will be required to undertake a DBS check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

We warmly welcome visits to the school. Please telephone the school for an application pack and details of visiting times. Contact Lyn Thornton on 0115 9560995, E-mail: Office@rbps.org.uk
