An exciting opportunity has arisen to provide maternity leave cover at Newark CLDT. The team seeks an enthusiastic colleague to join us as ASWP. You will be required to provide supervision and support to team members and also hold a small complex caseload. You will also be expected to undertake some management responsibilities within the team such as acting as duty manager and/or safeguarding manager, attending meetings and providing leadership in the development of the team’s policies and practice. You will also be expected to undertake duties as an AMHP or Best Interest Assessor for the ASCH department on a rota basis.

In return we will provide you with regular support and supervision and access to relevant training and development opportunities including the development of services within the district and across the county. There is a commitment to ensuring that whilst challenging and exciting the overall workload will be manageable.

The team covers a large area of Nottinghamshire and provides an exciting opportunity to undertake a variety of practice experience within a supportive team. This includes assessment and commissioning including preventative and promoting independence services to adults with a diagnosed learning disability aged over 18. Some of the adults have additional disabilities and needs including mental health diagnoses, physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, etc.

There is a significant amount of safeguarding work as well as work related to the Mental Capacity Act, Social Circumstances reports and Hospital Discharges. The team has a good record of working co-operatively with other agencies and is looking to continue to build on this to improve the service provided to people with disabilities and their carers.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
