Reporting to: Deputy CEO of the Flying High Partnership

This is a temporary two year position due to grant funding. 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year however the hours are flexible by negotiation.

We are looking for a Teaching School Manger, forming part of the Flying High Partnership central team, working across the Synergy Teaching School Alliance, led by Longwood Infant Academy.

The teaching school manager will play a strategy role in leading, developing and overseeing the Synergy Teaching School who leads the 4Derbyshire alliance, ensuring that it continues to grow and develop in line with the diverse needs of its members.

The role is an exciting opportunity to be part of something special, developing and supporting a wide range of schools and playing a significant role in influencing the outcomes of children.

Aims of the role

  • To develop, plan and deliver the impact & evaluation of Teaching School ‘Big 6’ activities
  • To promote and monitor the effectiveness of Teaching School ‘Big 6’ activities being led by strategic partners.
  • To successfully recruit high quality trainee teachers and to support the coordination and delivery of school direct.
  • Deliver high quality programme of CPD.
  • Enable system leaders to impact on school improvement across the alliance and beyond.
  • Provide high quality leadership development and talent management opportunity across the alliance, working closely with Inspiring Leaders.
  • Enable engagement in research activity, and create mechanisms to share learning.
  • Oversee a process of school led, peer to peer challenge and support.
  • Achieve financial sustainability of the teaching school.
  • To develop a strong reputation for Synergy teaching school, in association with Flying High Partnership

  • Extensive skills and experience as a project manager

  • Experience and a skill set to manage a teaching school budget
