St John’s Church of England Academy are seeking an exceptional leader to succeed the current principal following his retirement. This post will start in September 2020.

This is a fantastic opportunity and we are seeking a very special person. You will be:

  • An inspirational leader of staff, pupils and the community – able to communicate your vision clearly and simply to different audiences.
  • A wonderful teacher. You will understand what exceptional learning looks like and will guide and support teachers to be the best that they can be.
  • Well organised and systematic in your approach to managing a large primary academy.
  • A key contributor to the senior leadership team of SNMAT. As principal, you will help to frame the MAT’s strategic direction.
  • Ambitious for your pupils and staff.
  • Strategic in your evaluation and planning, able to manage and make sense of information from several sources.
  • An advocate of the Christian values that the Church of England promotes in all of its schools and academies.

St John’s was judged to be ‘good’ in its most recent inspection. Our ambition is that, under the revised framework, we can be truly outstanding at the next inspection. You will be fully supported in achieving this and will have access to a growing number of academies within SNMAT. The work we do is collaborative and exciting, making best use of the skills that our people bring.

As a leader you will receive very high-quality support from the multi academy trust and will become a member of the SNMAT’s Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the evolution of a successful and growing MAT.
