A post has arisen for a part time cook to work at The Big House in Edwinstowe. The Big House is an eight bedded short break home for children and young people with significant learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. The successful applicant must be able to cater to a diverse range of dietary needs whilst ensuring that all the requirements of the Health and Safety Act (1974) are complied with. The successful applicant must be able to prepare and cook healthy and nutritious food to a high standard. They will be responsible for maintaining very high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. They will adhere to cleaning schedules be hard working and have a professional attitude towards food, hygiene and the needs of the young people. They will also be responsible for stock control and ordering which they will do in partnership with the other part time cook. The successful candidate will be expected to set a positive example, build positive relationships with customers, with colleagues and partners. They will treat everyone with respect, consideration and the appropriate level of confidentiality. 

You will share the job with another part time cook and you will work on a rota basis which includes bank holiday working as well as weekend working.  The post is 55 hours on a two week rolling rota. 

Experience of working with and knowledge of Food Safety and experience of catering is required.  The candidate must have a Basic Food Hygiene certificate as a minimum. A full induction and training will be provided so the successful candidate must be willing to undertake further training and developments as required to meet the needs of the unit.
