An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Advanced Social Work Practitioner (ASWP) to join the MASH Adults Team.

The MASH provides an ideal opportunity to work in a unique environment working closely with partner agencies in a modern office accommodation with onsite parking. It also offers an established and supportive culture where you will be able to further develop your expertise in safeguarding to develop your career. You will be joining the team at a pivotal point where processes are being reviewed to develop practice and improve outcomes for those at risk.

We are looking for an ASWP who is able to work as part of a multi-agency team in a fast-paced environment, whilst supporting colleagues to make timely decisions to respond to safeguarding concerns and customer demand. Alongside this, you will provide support, leadership and supervise Social Workers and be a positive role model to your colleagues, partner agencies and the wider support networks for adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

As an ASWP, you will have responsibility for all safeguarding adult referrals and support the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub Officers to maintain their practice expertise. You must be able to evidence the skills required to prioritise risk and effectively manage your own case load whilst identifying any issues or concerns that may impact on service delivery and escalate these appropriately to your Team Manager.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A professional Social Work qualification
  • At least 2 years’ experience working at Band B or C
  • Best Interest Assessor qualification and/or Approved Mental Health Practitioner
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Excellent customer service and IT skills

You will be able to provide examples of your ability to think and work creatively and create an environment where others are encouraged and supported to explore new ways of working. You will have a thorough working knowledge of the Department’s current adult care strategies and keep up to date with the developments within Adult Social Care & Health & Safeguarding both locally and nationally.
