We are currently recruiting for a Technical Specialist within the ICT service.

As part of an agile development team you will be helping to direct the team together with the Service Development Manager and product owner to improve public services via the web and call centre, as well as improving internal systems via our intranet. We work in 2-week sprints using Scrum and Azure Devops to plan our work. The systems we build are focused on lowering the cost of delivering public services and getting value for money for the tax payers of Nottinghamshire.

We work on a wide variety of the council’s key applications including Mosaic and Firmstep and several different front and back end technologies. We use REST web services via WebAPI as the glue between different systems, and Aurelia/Angular, asp.net Core MVC, and Umbraco as our primary front-end technologies. Our version control, build and release pipelines are all handled by Azure Devops. We value adaptability, an ability to learn and a positive approach to the continually changing environment in which we work.

Skills and experience we are after are as follows (the more the merrier):

C#, .net Core 2, ASP.net MVC, WebAPI, System/Project architecture, Software Security (open Id Connect), Entity Framework, SQL Server, Razor, IIS, Azure App Service, HTML 5, CSS 3, Visual Studio, Resharper, SOAP/REST Web services, version control, GIT, Azure Devops (Scrum/Agile, Version control, Build, Release), Mosaic.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
