Fixed Term Health Improvement Principal
The Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council commissions a range of Public Health services, and works with other organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the population and reduce health inequalities. As our current set of service contracts comes to an end, we have a fixed term opportunity to work on the recommissioning of Public Health services. Procurement is currently underway on a new Integrated Wellbeing Service and an all-ages Substance Misuse Service. We now offer a fixed term secondment / acting up opportunity to work at a senior level on the recommissioning of these services, leading aspects of services procurement, mobilisation and inception.
Educated to degree level or holding an equivalent professional qualification, you will have knowledge of Public Health practice as applied to at least one public health priority area, commissioning experience, an understanding of the local partnership landscape, and experience of working in a political environment. You will be able to work at a senior level, using your experience of population health approaches, budget / financial management, project management and problem solving in the recommissioning of public health services.
You will have excellent communication and partnership working skills, be organised, flexible and autonomous. You will be accountable to a Senior Public Health and Commissioning Manager and will work in a complex, multi-agency environment.
Postholders will be primarily based at County Hall, Nottingham, but with the option to work flexibly with an alternative base at Meadow House in Mansfield, Notts.
