Nottinghamshire’s Support to Schools Service is seeking to appoint an experienced, senior leader, with a proven track record in a service, school or other setting, to lead the SFSS teams and contribute to the further development, promotion and delivery of the SEND vision and strategy for Nottinghamshire County Council. The SFSS is part of a comprehensive group of services to schools, which are innovative and forward thinking.  This Council is committed to ensuring that every Nottinghamshire child and young person has access to a school, which is good or outstanding and meets the needs of all children and young people. The SFSS Team Manager will be key to ensuring the continued provision of a high quality service to children and young people (CYP) with SEND, at a time of significant change.

As Team Manager you will have a key role to play in implementing the Council’s vision for SEND through strong partnership working with all publically-funded schools and a wide range of internal and external partners, to ensure that Nottinghamshire families access the best possible education for CYP with SEND.

Applicants should have extensive experience of the education sector, leading and managing teams during periods of change and transformation. As Team Manager you will be leading and working alongside an experienced and highly motivated professional team of teachers and teaching assistants, supporting schools and other educational settings to make effective provision for children and young people with SEND.

Applications should be supported by a statement of no more than 1,000 words sharing your vision for the education of children and young people with SEND in Nottinghamshire and outlining how your experience and skills will support the further improvement of education and opportunity for all, in Nottinghamshire schools.

Interested candidates, who may wish to discuss this role further, should telephone Linda Foster, Group Manager, for Support to Schools Services, on 01159 772502.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
