The Big house is an eight bedded children's home providing overnight short breaks for children and young people with significant learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. 

We are looking for inspirational individuals who have the right skills and knowledge to work with the most vulnerable service users, meeting their physical, emotional and health care needs. Are you motivated, caring and committed to meeting the needs of the children and young people you care for as well as having the ability and resilience to work in what can be a very physically and emotionally challenging environment?

Do you have experience of working with children and young people within a residential setting or in a similar role? Are you prepared to work shifts over 7 days a week including bank holidays? The early shift starts at 7am until 2.30pm and the late shifts are 2pm-10pm, with occasional sleep in duties. Can you lead a team of staff ensuring all the children and young people's care plans are adhered to including the administration of medication?

You will also hold key working responsibilities, building, maintaining and developing in depth care plans. We currently have a vacancy for an excellent candidate for a permanent full time residential social care worker post. In return we can offer:
